Every update to Flipgrid is driven by ideas and feedback from our inspiring #FlipgridForAll community. Keep reading to explore six new updates that make Flipgrid more simple, engaging, and fun!
Sync Google Classroom Roster: Coming Dec. 21!
As we approach a new year with new learning communities, we are making Flipgrid simpler and more powerful. Starting Dec. 21, you can sync Google Classroom rosters to Flipgrid discussions, making student access easier than ever!
Simply choose a Google Classroom roster when setting Group permissions. When your community accesses your Flipgrid discussion, they will have the option to log in via Google, and only those on your class roster will gain access.
Mic Only Mode is here!
**taps mic** Check, check, 1, 2 … Whether your learners are working on a podcast or simply want their camera off, students can now record a video using only audio while still accessing the full Flipgrid suite of creative boards, frames, stickers, and emojis!
Other product updates to share with your learning communities!
There are new ways to use Shorts! Educators can now add a title to any new or existing Shorts video. You can also search your Shorts library and quickly copy a link to your Shorts video.
Student List batch actions
End the year with student portfolios! You can now easily add student videos to a Mixtape or download all of their videos from the Students tab in your Educator Dashboard.
Call out any moment of any video, any time! You can now time stamp video moments in comments or Topic descriptions!
Quick selfies and nametags
Selfies are easier than ever. Flipgrid will now select the first frame of a video as your cover photo. You can either submit as-is or choose a different frame, upload a pic, take a new selfie, or add a nametag!
BONUS! Lastly, a reminder that screen recording and text comments are now live in Flipgrid!
Thank you for helping make Flipgrid more simple, engaging, and fun! We look forward to seeing what you do with your learning communities in the new year.
